Beautiful Scalloped A-Line Wedding Dress with Double Straps
This A-line dress from David's Bridal was the perfect blend of elegant and whimsical. The double straps give plenty of support and character, and the scalloped top is a unique touch.
The dress actually has three layers of fabric that give it extra dimension and detail. The bottom later is nude, the next layer is an antique lace, and the top layer is sheer tulle with gorgeous floral embroidery with subtle blush pink flowers and tasteful sparkles.
The chapel train is the perfect length, it trails beautifully without being over the top. It has an open back and deep front that shows some skin in a flattering way. The top of the dress is fitted and form-fitting, but the real show-stopper is the flowy, lacy fabric of the bottom half. It's incredibly lightweight and perfect for carefree dancing.
Alterations: I had the straps slightly shortened to better fit my bust (small to medium), and I had the nude mesh piece over the cleavage removed. I added a traditional bustle with 5 cascading hooks. I had the hemline altered to better fit my height. I'm 5.5' and wore a 1 1/2 inch heel.
Condition: The bottom few inches of the bottom layer of the dress is dirty and stained, but it is not visible with the layers of fabric over it. There is a small tear in the top layer of lace in the bottom right fabric of the train, about three inches from the hem.
From the designer: Appliqued with pearl-centered blush flowers, this scalloped-bodice gown has an irresistibly ethereal feel. The tulle skirt is softly voluminous, and the double-strapped, low back lends a delicate feel.
